Document, Office and Multimedia Formats

Although IMatch is focused on digital image management, it provides support for a wide range of non-image formats too. For many formats IMatch can even render thumbnails or previews7. For other file formats, IMatch uses the standard icon representation you know from Windows Explorer.
All file-management features in IMatch (including Copy/Move/Rename and Categorize) are also available for non-image formats.

Adobe PDF (PDF)
Microsoft Office (DOC,XML,PPT,MSP,...)
Multimedia-Formats (AVI, MOV, RM,MPEG,MPG,...)
MP3 Audio (MP3)
Encapsulated Postscript (EPS)
Others can be configured as needed

Due to the undocumented nature of most digital camera RAW formats, there is no guarantee that IMatch can handle all camera models or file format variants. Not all features of these RAW formats are supported. Please use the tools and applications provided by your camera vendor to process your RAW files to maximum possible quality.

3
IMatch uses the official Canon developer support libraries, and hence supports all image formats supported by these libraries.

4 No write support for 16-Bit per channel images is included in IMatch at the moment. Batch processing and image conversion works for 24 bit (8 bits per channel) and below only.

5  IMatch uses the official Nikon software development kit for "Capture-like" display quality.

6  Most camera vendors do not document their proprietary file formats, and also don't provide support for developers. This makes it hard to support RAW formats in IMatch (This is a problem for all third-party applications, not only the photools.com products). Even the vendors who have developer support (Canon, Kodak, Nikon) often needs months to update their developer libraries after a new camera model has been released.

7 This feature depends on the built-in ability in Windows to render thumbnails for file formats, and may require additional software (e.g. Adobe® Acrobat® or Microsoft® Office®).
